Charlie loves creating extraordinary dining experiences with excellent wine, personally choosing every bottle on Stein’s restaurants wine lists.
The youngest of the three Stein boys, Charlie was born in Padstow and now splits his time between there and London. Charlie was immersed in food and wine from a young age and remembers sneaking into The Seafood Restaurant kitchen through the back doors to get a taste for what was going on.
Following completion of his Wine & Spirit qualifications, Charlie went on to work at the new-wave London wine merchants, The Vintner as marketer and purchaser before moving into sales. Since 2020, Charlie has stepped up to become a Director for the Rick Stein business.
He is a familiar face on television, with appearances on BBC’s Saturday Kitchen, and co-hosting Wine, Dine and Stein with brother Jack. Charlie regularly hosts masterclasses, wine dinners and can often be found pottering around one of our restaurants, checking in with customers and teams.
